Fran Goldie-Marcus, LCSW has been in private practice in Marin County since 1983.
She got her degree from UC Berkeley, received training at UCSF Langley Porter Neuropsychiatric Institute and worked in the department of Psychiatry at Kaiser, San Rafael for the first 6 years of her career.
Originally trained as a child therapist, she has a strong foundation in developmental theory and has had a steadfast interest in how development of the self can become stalled or skewed, and how psychotherapy can help clients overcome their internal obstacles and flourish. She approaches her work from a developmental perspective heavily influenced by object relations theory, self psychology and attachment theory. Cognitive behavioral theory, affective neuroscience and mindfulness also inform her work.
She enjoys a thriving and diverse private practice in Novato, CA working with adults, teenagers and children individually and in conjoint therapy. She has consulted and trained professionals on the subject of personality disorders for many years.
